经过较长时期的酝酿与筹备,中国编辑学会于1992年10月13日在北京正式宣告成立。正如大会所指出的,中国编辑学会是在党的十四大胜利召开之际成立的,是在全国人民遵照邓小平同志南巡重要讲话的精神,抓紧有利时机,进一步加快改革开放和现代化建设的步伐的新形势下召开的。大会认为,编辑出版工作是我国社会主义建设事业不可缺少的组成部分。
