改革开放以来,山西省科协以省级学会和地方科协为依托,努力开拓国际民间科技交流渠道,加快国际交往步伐,为山西省科技专家走上国际舞台,吸纳海外学子和国际友人来晋献计献策,促进地方经济发展,推动科技进步,繁荣学术起到了科技社团独特的作用。一、围绕当代科技发展方向,提供国际科技信息,开展国际间学术活动,推动科技进步和学科发展。为缩短与发达国家的差距、赶超国际先进水平,山西省科协运用自身网络优势,先后为省内的18个重点项目提供了美国、日本、以色列等国家和台湾地区的技术数据和有关资料,帮助项目实施单位进行可行性论证和高起点的技术文件设计,提高了决策的科学性和先进性。近几年来,山西省科协对争取国际学会议入晋,邀请国外知名技术专家来访一直十分重视。而这方面也日呈活跃之势。
