Objective To investigate the influencing factors of acute cerebral apoplexy complicated with hypernatremia and the effect of hypernatremia on prognosis. Methods The clinical data of 239 patients with acute stroke who were admitted to neurology intensive care unit from January 2006 to December 2011 in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Analysis of patients 24h fluid intake and Glasgow score (GCS) on the impact of hypernatremia and hypernatremia on the prognosis. Results The mortality of patients with hypernatremia was higher than that of the control group, and there was a high probability of hypernatremia when the GCS score was low and the volume of fluid was imbalanced for 24 hours. Conclusions Hypernatremia is not only the result of acute stroke, but also aggravates acute stroke. The heavier the patient’s injury and the higher the serum sodium, the poorer the prognosis.
