Sophora flavescens is a dry root of the leguminous plant Sophora flavescens Ait. It is a Chinese medicine contained in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and has the effects of heat and dampness, insecticidal diuresis. Matrine and Oxymatrine are the main active ingredients.
