The Year of 2000 is a Year of Excitement for the Chinese. Before joining the World Trade Organization, the United States Congress has agreed to form a permanent normal trade relations with China. China’s economy continues to develop at impressive pace. The healthy growth in exports reflects the further globalization of China’s basic industries as well as the quality of Chinese products and their competitiveness in world markets. Open to the outside world
