新华社北京12月22日电(记者杜宇)记者22日从人力资源和社会保障部获悉,截至2008年11月底,全国城镇居民基本医疗保险参保人数过亿,达到10012万人,比上年年底增加5721万人。据人力资源和社会保障部有关负责人介绍,城镇居民基本医疗保险试点工作自2007年开始启动,国务院确定首批88个试点城市。2008年试点范围进一步扩大,确定试点城市229个,截至11月底,已有999万人享受城镇居民基本医疗保险待遇。
