王澍寰教授是我国著名的骨科专家,手外科奠基人。50年代初期做普外、骨科及成形外科工作。这些工作使他打下了扎实基础,并于1959年创建了我国第一个手外科专业。 建国初期,随着我国工农业生产机械化的发展,手外伤发生率急骤上升,由于手的解剖精细,功能复杂,治疗技术要求较高,非专门训练的医生难以胜任。为了保护这种多发损伤劳动力的需要,北京市决定在积水潭医院由王澍寰负责创建手外科。当时国内无处进修,
