陆军的通用作业环境建立了一种共享式硬件、软件底层结构,提高了相关能力升级、维修及训练的效率,让士兵获得更加简便、经济、快捷的体验。如果特斯拉汽车公司(Tesla Motors)想要增加旗下电动汽车续航里程,或汽车加装盲区警示系统、自动紧急制动系统或更好的音响系统,并不需要再造一辆新车。实际上,该公司只需对现有汽车进行无线软件升级即可。这些汽车配备有通用软件基线,可以同步接收针对不同功能的升级,极大地节省了汽车制造商和车主的时间与金钱。
The Army’s Common Operating Environment establishes a shared hardware and software infrastructure that improves the efficiency of upgrading, repairing and training of related capabilities, giving soldiers a more simple, economical and faster experience. If Tesla Motors wants to increase its range of electric vehicles or install a blind spot warning system, automatic emergency brake system or better sound system in cars, it does not need to rebuild a new car. In fact, the company only needs to upgrade wireless software to existing cars. Equipped with a common software baseline, these cars receive simultaneous upgrades for different functions, saving significant time and money for carmakers and car owners.
