青山学院大学理工学部犬塚直夫教授们的研究小组利用在玻璃板上传输光的折射率原理,研制了一种温度传感器。将两块折射率不同的透明玻璃板之端面予以结合。如果使光从一个端面传人另一端面,则根据斯内尔规律会引起折射。因此,当温度发生变化时,折射率、折射角也会随之变化。若检测出折射率之变化,则可测定出温度。进而通过适当地选择上述透明玻璃板的折射率、厚度等,就能制作多模光波导。如果使光从端面传入波导,光就将在端面相结合的界面产生折射,分成各模式的光,展成扇形。展成扇形的各模式的光,由于
