利用雄性不孕系配制玉米杂交种,具有种子纯度高、节省去雄用工、增产等优点。六十年代,黑龙江省有一定面积采用雄性不孕系配制的杂交种。可是,后来由于受1971年美国T细胞质雄性不孕系配制的玉米杂交种遭受小斑病T小种侵染造成空前减产的冲击,小斑病发生较轻的黑龙江省,也基本停止应用雄性不孕系。雄性不孕系在黑龙江省有无前途?它对黑龙江省玉米主要病害——大斑病和丝黑穗病的抗性如何?这是大面积应用雄性不孕系配制玉米杂交种必须解决的问题。
