“578”莜麦是我所1971年通过有性杂交,经选择、鉴定、品比、区试等试验阶段培育而成的.该品种具有抗旱丰产,较抗倒伏,品质好,产草量高等优点.自1982年在张家口地区大面积推广以来,到1984年已种植45.5万亩,成为该区的主栽品种之一.河北的丰宁县,内蒙的兴和、化德、商都也开始引进推广,山西的雁北、云南的昭通也有种植.本品种1983年通过鉴定,同年获张家口地区科技成果二等奖,1984年获河北省农业科技成果三等奖和农牧渔业部技术改进二等奖.1985年种植面积估计可达80-100万亩.
