王其智1949年进华北大学,国立北平艺专学画,后入中央美术学院继续学习、曾得到齐白石、徐悲鸿、李可染、蒋兆和、罗工柳、张仃等画坛名师的指教,学习勤奋.受益匪浅。特别是在其父王式廓先生极其严格的训导之下,德、艺并重,受其陶冶,打下良好的绘画基础。1951年,王其智在中央美术学院毕业以优异成绩被留该院肖像画室,专攻伟人巨幅肖像。其间又得到前辈张振仕、左辉先生的提携。经过长期的实践,探索出一套用油画绘制伟人肖像的中国特色的创作示范。27年来,曾绘制的伟人肖像有:毛泽东、刘少奇、周恩来、朱德、陈云、邓小平、孙中山、马克思、恩格思、列宁、斯大林、金日成、西哈努克。1997年7月1日,王其智以香港回归为主题,创作油画作品《心愿》,塑造了改革开放的总设计师邓小平的形
Wang Qizhi went to North China University in 1949, he started his studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and went on to study at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
