一百五十年之内,中国烧掉了大部分连接今天和昨日的桥。中国精神和文化的根烂掉了或是被破坏了。今天,中国人的物质和精神生活正在发生迅疾的变化,在充满戏剧性的转变下,一个没有根的社会容易得病。这些病的名字叫消费主义、腐败(物质的和道德的),精神空虚和抑郁症。《诗书画》杂志是一座连接中国文化今天和过去的桥。这座桥用很轻巧的材料建造,只可以安静地,蹑脚地走过去,坦克和奔驰骄车没法过。可是,它比高速公路通伸得远。
Within a hundred and fifty years, China burned most of the bridges connecting today and yesterday. The root of the Chinese spirit and culture is rotted or destroyed. Today, the material and spiritual life of the Chinese people is undergoing rapid changes. Under a dramatic change, a society without roots can easily get sick. The names of these diseases are consumerism, corruption (material and moral), emptiness and depression. Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting is a bridge that connects Chinese culture to today’s past. The bridge is constructed of very light materials and can only be walked quietly and stomping on, with tanks and Mercedes-Benz inaccessible. However, it extends far beyond the freeway.
