在中國近現代歷史上,章太炎是一個十分特殊的人物,他不僅是國學大師,更是革命大家,對中國近代民族資産階級革命、學術思想發展和國學傳承均産生過深遠影響。然而,在諸多領域和話語體系中,他的一生是被割裂的:在政治史領域,祇關注他革命的一面,而忽略了他的學術貢獻;而在學術史領域,僅聚集於他的學術和國學貢獻,很少言及他對中國民族資産階級革命産生的影響,使人很難窺其全貌,因此,有必要對其革命生涯和學術貢獻作一完全的梳理。
