In April 1933, director E. Ji-kan suggested to me to convert “optimistic tragedies” into films. The stage script was just written. Seven months left for the first time at Camani Theater. The script has caused a debate. The straightforward and sincere attitude of Jigand and his remark that “I want to work with you” caught my creative interest. In considering his suggestion, I proposed a new plan. Movie is a new art. Its possibilities, its performance means are extremely rich.
