This article describes a system used to detect and reduce the recording noise. The basic characteristics of impulse noise waveform is fast transient, short duration. This article describes a detector that uses these two characteristics to distinguish noise and signal. Several noise reduction methods are discussed and compared. Illustrates a simple attenuation technique that is subjectively perceived as preferable to sophisticated techniques. The design of the delay line and attenuator at the best performance is considered, and the subjective performance of the system is evaluated.
