徐州日报原来是一张面向城市读者的小报。今年3月实行地市合并、以市管县的新的行政管理体制以后,我们加强了农业报道,力求办好一张城乡结合、工农结合的报纸。市管县以后,徐州市总人口达685万,其中农村六县人口有600万以上。新的行政管理体制建立初期,我们辟专版陆续介绍了各县的基本情况,并突出报道了各县农业发展的情况。目前,报纸上刊登的农村报道,约占总用稿量的三分之一,其中一版刊登的农村稿件,约占四分之一。实践表明,这个比例大体上是可行的,
Xuzhou Daily turned out to be a tabloid for city readers. After the city-city merger was implemented in March this year to bring the county’s new administrative system under control, we stepped up our coverage of agriculture and tried our best to get a newspaper that combines urban and rural areas and integrates workers and peasants.
