During the Middle Ages, most of the famous composers’ works were named after excellent dance music such as the German Allemande Alemande (also known as Two Beatles), the Italian coupe Courante Lante dance, Spanish dance “Sarabande”, Baroque “Gigue” Jige dance and so on. This trend is not due to the dance’s character, but because the composer relies on the rhythm of the dance music to create his favorite movement. And these dance will be popular for a long time, it depends on the popularity of the dance. When these dance music is little popular, the composer will pick another form, especially the name of Italy, such as allegro Allegro, Adagio and so on.
