忠实于原文一直被认为是传统意义上“翻译”的基本原则,然而汉字偏旁蕴含表意功能的特点却使得这一原则在外来词的翻译实践中往往不被遵守。译者常常根据原语的特点和译语的规律,利用汉字偏旁的表意功能,在语形、语义等层面上创造出原文中所没有的增值信息,以取得理想的翻译效果。通过分析外来词翻译实例,发现汉语外来词偏旁增值现象具有普遍性,其文化、心理、美学价值不可忽视。
Being faithful to the original text has always been regarded as the basic principle of “translation ” in the traditional sense. However, the characteristic of ideographic characters in Chinese characters makes the principle not always observed in the practice of translation of foreign words. According to the characteristics of the original language and the target language, translators often use the ideographic function of the Chinese characters to create value-added information that is not available in the original texts at the level of language and semantics to achieve the desired translation effect. By analyzing the examples of loanwords translation, it is found that the value-added phenomenon of loanwords in Chinese is universal, and their values of culture, psychology and aesthetics can not be neglected.
