香港电影《郁达夫传奇》中几乎所有历史背景、细节、人物,基本能做到有所本原,并在尊重历史的情况下,展开合理的艺术想象。重读影片,不仅对郁达夫的后续研究大有裨益,而且对中国现代文学研究和中国电影的制作思想与路线不无启迪:既要站在民族文化的高度看待日本民族及其精神气质,还要站在研究鲁迅的高度来看待郁达夫对国民性和民族劣根性的批判;中国现代文学研究对于受害者和学习者身份的认定存在着文化层面的失衡和相应的反省意识与自我批判精神;从文学史的生成和发展角度来看,中国现代文学其实就是一部留学生文学史。
