Objective To investigate the effect of occupational stress on the levels of neurotransmitters in oil field field workers. Methods A total of 178 oil field fieldwork workers aged over 1 year were surveyed by occupational stress questionnaire (OSI-R). The levels of norepinephrine (NE), serotonin (5-HT), neuropeptide Y (NPY) and substance P (SP) levels. Results Serum levels of serotonin, NE and P in field workmen aged 15 years or less were significantly lower than those of workers aged> 15 years (P <0.05). Serum levels of serotonin, NE , Neuropeptide Y and substance P levels were statistically significant differences (P <0.05), any pairwise comparison found that a high level of occupational stress was greater than the low level of occupational stress group; partial correlation analysis found that oil field field occupational stress and 5 Serotonin, NE and P were positively correlated (P <0.05), negatively correlated with neuropeptide Y (P <0.05). Conclusion Occupational stress in field workers is related to serum neuropeptides and monoamine neurotransmitters. Occupational stress can affect serum neuropeptides and monoamine neurotransmitters.
