闻名世界的美国史密森尼学会(Smithsonian Institution)麾下国立亚洲艺术博物馆之一的弗利尔美术馆(Freer Gallery of Art,以下简称弗馆)自2016年1月起闭门整修,其姊妹馆赛克勒美术馆(Arthur M.Sackler Gallery,以下简称赛馆)也于2017年7月关闭修葺,观众翘首以盼的开馆典礼订于今年金秋时节的10月14日。我们有幸请到亚洲艺术博物馆的中国书画部主任、策展人安明远(Stephen Allee)先生与双语讲解员刘嫄博士于第一时间为我们揭开特为开馆设计的中国书画展之帷幕,让《书与画》读者得以从万里之遥先睹为快。
The world-renowned Freer Gallery of Art, one of the National Museum of Asian Art under the Smithsonian Institution, has been closed for renovations since January 2016. Its sister gallery The Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, also closed for repair, was closed in July 2017 and the highly anticipated opening ceremony for the spectators is scheduled for October 14 this fall. We were fortunate to be invited to the Chinese painting and calligraphy department director of the Asian Art Museum, the curator Stephen Allee and the bilingual interpreter Dr. Liu Yong opened the curtain for the first time for the opening of China’s calligraphy and painting exhibition , So that “book and painting” readers to see from the far away.
