以美国典型页岩气盆地的页岩气成藏条件为基础,结合国内学者讨论,归纳出页岩气成藏条件包括:生烃条件(沉积环境、有机质类型、丰度、成熟度、单层厚度)、储集条件(孔隙度、渗透率、裂缝发育程度、矿物成分)、盖层及保存条件(构造运动强度、地层水条件)以及地层压力和埋深等,有利的页岩气成藏指标的下限为:w(TOC)≥2.0%,Ro≥1.1%,单层厚度≥9m,脆性矿物含量≥40%。
