本文对新时期档案的编研工作进行了探讨, 着重就如何提高新时期档案编研工作的认识, 新时期档案编研工作所处的地位和作用, 特别是新时期档案编研工作的基本思路、方法以及档案编研工作的科学管理和规划进行了论述。要进一步提高对档案编研工作的认识, 体现档案编研工作在整个档案工作中占有更为显著的位置。要使编研工作从单一、低层次的开发逐步向多元化、高水平发展, 要扩展编研工作的对象, 打破单一利用文书档案状况, 实行档案资料一体化。还要加强档案编研工作的科学管理和规划工作, 形成合理规划和科学管理, 提高编研成果的使用。
