目前光纤通信中,点对点传输的传统准同步PDH系列与同步数字系列SDH相比较所暴露出一些固有弱点.要实现SDH网的关键是建立一个统一的网络节点接口 NNI,要有一套标准化的信息结构等级即同步传递模块 STM-1、STM-4和STM-16,所有的网络单元都要有标准的光接口,要大量采用软件进行网络配置和控制.南通C_3本地网SDH传输系统应采用同步传递模块STM-16,其传输速率为2.5Gb/s的两个环形网,相当于3万条话路的ADM上下复用器,环节点在10个以内,环路采用复用段保护.为了便于组织以C_3本地网为中心的本地传输监控系统,只能使用同一制式的SDH设备.
