过探先先生（１８８７－１９２９年）是１９１１年第二批庚款留美农科硕士，我国近代著名的农业教育家、棉花专家和大规模人工造林的最早实施者。他也是中国科学社的发起人之一、中华农学会的创始人之一，曾历任东南大学农科副主任、金陵大学农林科首任中方主任等重要职务。由于工作繁剧，过探先不幸英年早逝，蔡元培先生为其亲笔题写了像赞。
Over the first visit (1887-1929) is the second installment in 1911 Geng Mei Master of Agriculture in the United States, China’s modern famous agricultural educators, cotton experts and large-scale afforestation of the earliest implementers. He is also one of the initiators of the Chinese Science Society, one of the founders of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Sciences, and has served successively as the deputy director of the Agricultural Department of Southeast University and the first director of the Chinese Agriculture and Forestry Department of Jinling University. As a result of his complicated work, it was unfortunate that the premature death had premature death. Mr Tsai Yuan-pei wrote his compliment like a compliment.
