“5·12”汶川特大地震灾害,中国政府举全国之力,抗震救灾。中国政府迅速的反应能力、超凡的领导能力,赢得了国际社会的信任和尊重;中国人民的英勇无畏、坚韧不拔、团结互助感动了国际社会。而13亿中国人民在经历了巨大的哀伤和悲痛后,迅速挺立起来,坚强地投入到灾后重建中。5月24日,国务院总理温家宝在震中地区映秀镇会见联合国秘书长潘基文、接受中外媒体联合采访时,满怀自信地表示“3年后,一个新的汶川会拔地而起。”
