语言文字具有变动性和稳定性两重特性。作为交际的工具,语言文字要随着社会的发展而发展。社会是不断发展的,所以语言文字也是不断发展的。如果社会发展了,而语言文字停滞不前,它就不能适合社会发展的需要,就要对社会发展起阻碍作用。特别是当社会处于大变动时期,语言文字也往往会发生明显的变化。另一方面,作为交际的工具,语言文字要保持相对的稳定,以便社会成员能够用它来有效地进行交际。一日三变、朝令夕改,这样的语言文字就不能成为交际工具,就要被社会所抛弃。
Language has two characteristics of change and stability. As a communicative tool, the language should be developed with the development of society. Society is constantly evolving, so language is constantly evolving. If the society develops and the language is stagnant, it can not be adapted to the needs of social development and impedes the development of society. Especially when the society is in a period of great change, the language and writing often change obviously. On the other hand, as a communicative tool, the language should be relatively stable so that members of the community can use it to effectively communicate. Change day by day, toward the evening change, this language can not be a communicative tool, it must be abandoned by society.
