一位外国人写道:“中国小说家获得诺贝尔文学奖的希望……也许比中国足球队走向世界杯的道路还要漫长。”这话叫人憋气又窝火,可我们也得承认事实。有人说,诺贝尔文学奖是西方人的玩意儿,东方人很难问鼎。这话不全对,亚洲的印度和日本不是也有人得到了吗?或者还有人说,我们太强调文学的党性原则,当然与诺贝尔无缘。这话也不全对,苏联也是很强调文学的党性原则的,苏联的作家不是也有人(而且不是一人)获此殊荣了吗?
A foreigner wrote: “Chinese novelists hope of winning the Nobel Prize for Literature ... may be a long way to go to the World Cup than the Chinese football team.” This is suffocating and loosens, but we have to admit the truth. Some people say that the Nobel Prize for Literature is a Western stuff, Oriental is difficult to ask. Is not that correct? Did not some people in Asia and India and Japan get it too? Or some people said that we too emphasize the principle of party spirit in literature, of course, we have no chance with Nobel. This is not true either. The Soviet Union places great emphasis on the principle of party spirit in literature. Does not the Soviet writer obtain the honor of anyone (and not of one)?
