语文作为一门基础学科,具有工具性、人文性,但高中语文与日常生活联系非常密切,涉及范围广,实践性强,更应该强调进一步提高学生的语文素养,使学生有较强的语文应用能力和一定的审美能力、探究能力,但现今狭窄的应试课程,僵化的语文教材,导致学生无论是在课内还是在课外对语文阅读毫无兴趣可言,又何能谈如何提高高中学生的语文学习能力。本文就课外阅读阐述了自己的观点,为学生良好的思想道德素质和科学文化素质、为终身学习和有个性的发展奠定基础。
