Mercury has a long history of treating syphilis. Li Shizhen (1518 ~ 1593), a great pharmacologist in Ming Dynasty in our country, has a detailed account in “Compendium of Materia Medica”. For more than 400 years, mercury has played an important role in the treatment of syphilis. By the turn of the twentieth century, arsenic, bismuth and antibiotics were found to have had a significant effect on the treatment of syphilis due to the discovery of arsenic, bismuth and antibiotics. In recent years, under the correct leadership of the party, the health sector in our country has vigorously carried out the patriotic health campaign focusing on the elimination of pests and diseases,
