Surgery is the common treatment for primary hyperparathyroidism. The authors investigated the ability of a calcium-like drug (R-568) to inhibit the secretion of parathyroid hormone in patients with primary hypothyroidism and thereby reduce serum thyroid hormone and calcium concentrations in vitro.
