There was not any connection between William James, the famous American philosopher of pragmatism in 19th century, and Liu Dakun, master of literary theory in Qing Dynasty in China. But their writings imply a particularly relevant and immeasurable perspective, especially the so-called “humble aesthetics.” The two men each noticed from their very different cultural backgrounds the indispensable but often neglected role that function words or function words unknowingly influenced us to read and write. This article explores how to read or reinterpret the work we know, using the theory of rhythm, with a particular focus on the “insignificant” but crucial function of James and Liu Dafeng and contemporary linguists such as Feng Shengli and others The influence of the word, especially the function of the function word in the structure of the row. According to Chinese classical poetry and works by Jeffrey Chaucer, Joseph Conrad, Henry James, Charles Baudelaire, Guy de Maupassant, John Wolfgang von Goethe, etc. Human works and examples in modern Japanese, this paper emphasizes that functional words play a crucial narrative effect such as living atmosphere and living magnetic field resulting from syntactic prosody in addition to common grammatical functions, but this is not a kind of The “regional” individual phenomenon is a “global” phenomenon to be further studied.
