In February 2001, two scientific research teams that “interpreted” the human genome made unexpected findings: Humans only have about 30,000 genes, instead of the 35,000 to 120,000 previously expected. It turns out that the number of human genes is almost the same as the number of genes in corn plants. It can also be said that there is not much more gene than a locust. Many scientists originally believed that each gene contains a “prescription” that can synthesize a protein. Proteins are originally divided into many types, and all life activities such as growth, development, exercise, digestion, secretion, and immunity of the human body depend on various proteins involved.
