在柴油机技术全面发展的今天,日本丰田柴油机采用的几项技术显得特别重要:在高性能柴油机上采用CFA陶瓷纤维强化铝活塞;采用新型电子控制喷油系统,并对燃烧开始采用光学传感;在2L—THE涡轮增压高性能汽车柴油机上采用陶瓷涡流燃烧室和在轻型卡车上采用排量为3.5升的新的直喷式13B系列柴油机。
