Whether China’s Foreign Trade Rate Is Overvalued According to figures from China Statistical Yearbook, China’s import and export totaled $ 236.7 billion in 1994 with a GDP of 4,500.6 billion yuan. According to the average annual exchange rate of RMB against the U.S. dollar of 8.62: 1 in 1994, the GDP can be converted into 522.1 billion U.S. dollars.
