国际奥委会主席罗格在《关于奥林匹克运动走向全球》的文章中提出:要让奥林匹克运动更纯粹、更人性、更团结。“奥林匹克运动不断向前发展,并被赋予时代的内涵。中国在申办2008年北京奥运会时提出三个响亮的口号——绿色奥运、科技奥运和人文奥运,这是中国人对奥林匹克运动的理解。人文奥运、绿色奥运、科技奥运都有各自独立的内涵,但是它们又是相辅相成、不可分割的统一体。将这三者统一为不可分割的整体,是对现代奥林匹克运动新的诠释,并将重新建构完整而深刻的奥林匹克理念。
