It has been known long ago that the pathogen of citrus split disease is a viro virus (citrus split surface virus, CEV) that can be identified by grafting, sap and wound inoculation of Etrog citron and Java notoginseng. Based on these indications of plant response, it is known that there is an attenuated strain in so-called split-skin plants. Schlemmer et al. (1985) isolated the viroid ribonucleic acid from the citron that displays the symptoms of split disease and named the citronella variant (CVaV). Japanese Sasaki (1985) and Ghana (1985) also reported that the reaction of Etelo citron is the weakest strain of citrus split disease. The author and Hiroyuki Sasaki, Hiroyuki test site jointly study to explore the symptoms of this weak citrus split skin disease and virus-like relationship. Extraction of low molecular weight nuclei from virulent strains, attenuated strains and healthy leaves of Etrus citrona
