Modern studies have found that many traditional Chinese medicine polysaccharides have the functions of increasing antioxidant enzyme activity, scavenging free radicals, inhibiting lipid peroxidation, and thus protecting biofilm. This article reviews the research progress of the antioxidative effects of polysaccharides from traditional Chinese medicine in recent years. 1 Enhancement of SOD and GSH Px by polysaccharides of Chinese herbs Yeung [1] reported that PSK polysaccharides can enhance the activity of GSH Px and promote H2O2.
