由八个国家和地区派队参赛的第九届亚洲女子足球锦标赛,于去年12月3日在马来西亚东南部的旅游名城吉晋拉开了战幕。 经过10天16场的激烈角逐,赛前被一致看好的,曾连续三届荣鹰亚洲女足冠军的中国队,力挫群芳第四次登上亚洲霸主的宝座,再一次显示了雄厚的实力,朝鲜队居次席,日本、中国台北队分别列3、4名。 创办于1975年的女足亚锦赛已先后由香港、中国台北、印度、泰国、日本和马来西亚等6个国家和地区主办。新西兰队夺得第一届冠军,中国台北队亦连夺三冠,泰国队夺得第五届锦标。中国队则四次夺标。
