无论任何种物质,全是由各该种物质的分子集合而成的。这种结论,早已由各位科学家们,利用各种方法,证明是千真万确的。不仅分子确实存在,而且它还时刻不停的在运动中。就三种状态的物质而言;(1)固态物质的分子、相互间的距离很近,因之相互吸引的作用力就大,于是分子或离子分别各自运动时,相互控制的作用就大,结果只可在不改变相互位置的情况下,作扭转运动或作振动运动,也有的可能作扭转与振动并行的运动。这样的结果,外部形态不变,固体物质之所以有固定的形状,也就是这个原因,(2)液态物质的分子或离子,相互间的距离,较固态物质分子间的距离就远些,因之相互的吸引力就较小些,也就是液态物质的分子或离子各自分别运动时,所受的限制小一些,换句话说,就是分子各自的自由性大一些,于是作随时改变位置的运动,也就是液态物质,没有固定形状的原因。(5)气态物质的分子,相互间的距离很大,有的可能大于它们 No matter what kind of material, all from the various kinds of material molecules made of.
