广府文化是以汉文化为主导并融合百越文化所产生的地域文化,是岭南文化的一个重要支系。越秀区作为广州建城2000多年从未改变的中心城区,有着“广府文化源地,千年商都核心”的美誉。在城市的发展进程中,越秀区积淀了丰富的历史文物资源。区内文物工作者应注重通过文物资源的保护和利用,最大限度地彰显广府文化的独特魅力,而对广府文化的保护与利用,不仅是对文化传承的积极作用,更是其发展建设的前提条件与关键所在。根据广府文化现况,以其保护和利用为着眼点,对广府文化的发展与建设具有十分重要的历史意义与现实意义。
