Natural killer (NK) cells are a type of immune cells that are increasingly valued. Studies have suggested that the more important function of NK cells is that they play a major role in maintaining the self-stability of the immune response as regulatory cells for hematopoietic and lymphoid cells. NK cells belong to the class of large granulocyte lymphocytes (LGL). In some diseases, the activity of NK cells varies with the number of LGL. Some scholars try to determine the number of LGL in peripheral blood as an indicator of the function of LGL. Can LGL count reflect the activity of NK? Is it possible to count the number of LGL in peripheral blood as an easy and convenient way to observe NK activity? From 1990 to 1992, we did such work.
