肖友梅,1884年出生于广东中山县,音乐教育家、作曲家,我国现代音乐的奠基人之一,被誉为“中国现代音乐之父”。1901年,肖友梅自费留学日本,成为中国第一位出国学习音乐的留学生。1906年,肖友梅经孙中山介绍加入了同盟会,成为该组织最早的成员之一,期间曾掩护过孙中山的革命活动。
Xiao Youmei, born in 1884 in Zhongshan County, Guangdong, is a music educator, composer and one of the founders of our country’s modern music. He is known as the “father of modern Chinese music”. In 1901, Xiao Youmei studied in Japan at his own expense and became China’s first overseas student studying music. In 1906, Xiao Youmei joined Sun Yat-sen to join the League and became one of the earliest members of the organization. During this period, Sun Yat-sen had concealed the revolutionary activities.
