Thomas Eliot (1888-1965) is the most influential British poet in the 20th century. Eliot’s “Love Song of Prufrock” is a well-known satirical poem that Eliot uses in his creation of “Love Songs of Prufrock” as a metaphor for Lafayette’s sarcasm and “non-personality” Poetry theory, to create a modern style of British and American poem.
