World War II veteran Belton Cooper was former platoon manager of the 3rd Army Armored Division mechanic camp in the United States, where he specialized in recovering and repairing American tanks destroyed by the wounded. He participated in all West Campaign after Normandy landed. Cooper published a memoir entitled “Death Trap” in 1998 and made a different conclusion to the performance of the M4 “Sherman” tank in World War II.
