红突31系浙江省农科院用红四一○通过辐射选育而成,经中国农科院品比鉴定,认为系优质米品种,可以推广种植。我县于1984年引种少量种子试种,1985年进行品种比较,小区平均亩产892.5斤,比当地大面积种植的龙革十号增产147.5斤,增长16.5％,比核质一号、73—07分别增产6.0、6.2％。梅关乡新华村廖罗英等五户种植的6.85亩,总产5666.4斤,平均亩产827斤,最高一块田面积1.02亩,总产1056.5斤,平均亩产1035.8斤,最低一丘田1.5亩,总产1110斤,亩产740斤。试种结果表明:红突31生育期110～114天,株高75.3～75.7厘米,穗长17.2～18.5厘米,总粒数64.5～71.4粒,实粒55.1～59.4粒,结实率83.2～85.4％,千粒重24.1～24.6克。抗病性较强,高抗稻瘟
