《奉献》雕像的故事进入纺织谷园区大门,迎面而对的是一座高约3米(不包底座)、以《奉献》为主题的纺织女工汉白玉石刻雕像。该雕像以其独特的形式展示了青岛纺织工人“拼搏创新、无私奉献”的行业精神,抒发了青岛纺织为山东和全国纺织工业发展多贡献的自豪。1987年,作为全国纺织行业的双文明建设先进单位--青岛国棉八厂出于提升企业形象和激发纺织工人主人翁精神的考虑,拟在厂大门区建音乐喷泉,据说时任八棉党委书记的胡炎提议在喷泉内建
