演员创作的特点在于,他再现的形象,不是由他自己而是由剧作家产生出来,并且由导演拟定总的意图并作出一定的解释,然后才分派给扮演者去处理的。但这是不是说,演员不是形象的创造者,不是一个以其世界观、创作意图和技巧决定着形象创造的艺术家呢?不。只有当剧作家的意图和一个演出或一部影片的导演意图在演员的创作中得到正确的解释,常形象对演员来说已成为自己的、孕育成熟的并因而能为观众所明确理解的时候,作品才获得艺术的生命,才能作用于人们的思想感情,而实现它作为生活教师的崇高使命。
