蒙古灰象(虫甲)是甜菜苗期害虫,在我区为害甚为严重,轻者造成缺苗断垅,重者无苗毁种,影响甜菜生产。为防治蒙古灰象(虫甲),1968年我区开始用3911拌种,取得很好的效果,但3911是剧毒农药,应寻找高效低毒低残留的新农药取而代之。1974年我们从几种农药中筛选出甲基硫环磷的毒性比3911低,小白鼠致死中量为87.5毫克/公斤,杀虫效果可达80—100%,残效期保持到出苗后10天。在沈阳医学院药理教研组协助下进行了残留测定,出苗后10天的甜菜苗中残留0.07ppm 以下,可作饲料。35%甲基硫环磷由山西省化肥农药研究所提供。经1974—1975年两年的试验,从田间采苗室内接虫喂饲和田间扣笼接虫试验结果可以看出,用甲基硫环磷1:40倍浓度拌种,出苗后10天左右杀虫效果可达95.6—100%,而用3911拌种的杀虫效果只有76.7—89.3%。
